Sweden: Professor of Supply Chain Management at the University of Gävle

Overview

The post is full-time, based in Gävle, with admission according to agreement. The subject area is Supply Chain Management and the logistics research is preferably directed towards design of supply chains.

The post includes general responsibility for research, teaching and supervision at postgraduate, advanced and basic levels within the subject area. The duties include management and development of the subject area Supply Chain Management at the University of Gävle as well as further development of the research centre CLIP. An essential task is to manage collaborative research and development projects in close cooperation with companies and organisations.

Eligible Candidates

According to the Higher Education Ordinance (chap. 4§5), the appointment as Professor requires demonstrated scientific and pedagogic skills. The scientific skill should be demonstrated through independent research in the subject area. Planning and leadership competence is important. The applicant must have the teaching proficiency required for the position and in addition, unless there are special reasons, formal pedagogical training relevant for the tasks associated with this position. The pedagogic skill is demonstrated through planning, carrying out and evaluation of teaching as well as supervision and examination. The ability to teach in Swedish or English is a requirement.


Applicant ranking

For this position, the ranking will be based primarily on the scientific and pedagogic skills of the applicants. When considering the scientific skill, particular weight will be given to the applicant’s scientific productivity and quality related to Supply Chain Management as well as scientific leadership. Scientific leadership includes experience of leading research projects as well as successfully applying for research grants. Previous successful experiences of collaboration between academia and industry in regard to research and education as well as previous research related to design of supply chains are considered additional merits. Active contact with the general public is also considered a merit. In examining the pedagogic skill, skills and experience in the planning, execution and evaluation of teaching as well as pedagogical development work and pedagogical leadership will be considered.

1. Attested curriculum vitae including a list of references to persons knowledgeable of the applicant.
2. List of scientific and pedagogic merits. Applicants should indicate which merits they primarily wish to be taken into account in the evaluation procedure.
3. List of scientific publications.
4. The scientific publications (10 at the most) which the applicant wants to refer to in first hand, numbered in accordance with the list of publications.
5. List of relevant collaborative projects between academia and industry.
