Overview
Funding for Aspire Scholarships comes from the annual Government subsidy allocated to private schools. Private schools and state-integrated schools receive different types of funding from the Government because they are managed and funded differently.
Before you apply for an Aspire Scholarship, please be aware that:
* the scholarship can only be used at New Zealand private secondary schools. (A complete list of Fully registered Private Secondary Schools can be found in the application form. *the scholarship cannot be used at any state or state-integrated schools * the scholarship does not cover boarding fees * If a school is not listed on our current New Zealand's only fully registered private schools that include secondary students, it will not be covered by the Aspire Scholarship.
Eligible Candidates
Applicants must be:
* Year 9 or 10 in 2011
* their primary caregiver(s) have a combined annual gross income of $65,000 or less
* their primary caregiver(s) have a combined net worth of $150,000 or less
* they, or their primary caregiver(s), are not beneficiaries of any trusts (exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis)
* they are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand.
Amount Awarded
Up to $15,000 per year for tuition fees and up to $1,500 per year for course related costs.
